The national team of Belgium on football defeated the Russians in qualifying for UEFA Euro 2020

The match of the qualifying tournament of the European championship on football between national teams of Russia and Belgium ended with the score 4:1 in favor of the leaders of the FIFA rankings. The meeting was held at «Gazprom-Arena» in St. Petersburg. Controlled the game the referee from Portugal Artur Dias.

The guests took the lead in the 19th minute. Torhan Azar got the ball from his brother Eden at the left edge of the penalty area, beat Mario Fernandez and moved to the center. A powerful shot from midfielder Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Guilherme to react not have time.

The Belgian team scored 27 points out of 27 possible and guaranteed the first place in the group. The Russians with 21 points will take at the end of the qualifying tournament in second place. Scotland, earlier on Saturday beat out Cyprus (2:1), is the third (12 points).

The Belgians broke a record winning streak of the Russian team, which amounted to seven official matches. During this series of wards of Stanislav Cherchesov beat Kazakhstan (4:0 and 1:0) San Marino (9:0), Cyprus (1:0 and 5:0) and Scotland (2:1 and 4:0).

The national teams of Russia and Belgium guaranteed a part in the final stage of the European championship in October. The draw will take place on 30 November in Bucharest.

At the moment we know 12 of the 24 members of the Euro-2020. Earlier spots in the final part of the tournament also won the national teams of Italy, Poland, Spain, Ukraine, England, Turkey, France, Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland.

Until November 19 will determine the eight participants of the European championship. In the final part of the tournament will be two teams from the ten qualifying groups. Four more trips will compete in March 2020 in the framework of the League of Nations. In each of the divisions of the four best teams among teams who failed to pass the basic qualification will play on the Olympic system.

The matches of the final stage of the competition will be held from 12 June to 12 July 2020. They will be 12 arenas, located in 12 cities in 12 European countries. Euro 2020 will be held in the stadium Gazprom arena in St. Petersburg, which will host three group stage games and one quarterfinal meeting.

In addition, the matches of the European championship will be held at «Arena Munich», Olympic stadium in Baku, «Johan Cruyff Arena» in Amsterdam, the stadium «Olimpico» in Rome, «Arena Națională» in Bucharest, the stadium «San Mames» in Bilbao, on «Hampden Park» in Glasgow, the stadium «Ferenc Puskas» in Budapest, «Dublin Arena», the stadium «Parken» in Copenhagen and London Wembley.

The opening match of Euro 2020 will be held 12 June in Rome. Both semi-finals and finals will be held, respectively, 7, 8 and 12 July at Wembley.
