Michel Platini has filed a lawsuit against UEFA
The former head of UEFA Michel Platini, through the court requires from the organization payment of €7.2 million, of which €5,5 million debt on a salary. About it reports AFP.
«Through his lawyer I demand the fulfillment of contractual obligations,» — said Platini. However, he refused to confirm the amount of the claim.
In the fall of 2015 Platini was suspended for eight years from any football activities due to a corruption scandal. Former UEFA President was accused of receiving 2 million Swiss francs from the former head of FIFA Joseph Blatter from the funds of the organization. Suspension, later reduced to four years, expired on 8 October 2019.
During a football career, Platini played for Nancy, «Saint-Etienne» and Turin «Juventus». He acted as captain and coach of France, and also headed the organizing Committee of the 1998 world Cup in France, which ended with a home win.
From 2007 to 2017 Platini President of UEFA. Prior to his suspension he had planned to take part in elections of the FIFA President — in this post Platini had planned to replace Blatter.
