Cheryshev will miss the matches of Russian national team in qualifying for UEFA Euro 2020
Midfielder «Valencia» and the national team of Russia Denis Cheryshev due to injury will not play in the qualifying matches of the European championship against Belgium and San Marino, which will be held respectively on 16 and 19 November. About it reports a press-service of the national team.
«This is due to injury of the muscles of the anterior surface of the femur, which the player received in the Champions League game against French «Lille». The results today from the MRI were analysed by the medical staff of the team,» reads the official Twitter of the Russian team.
In the next two weeks Cheryshev will not be able to train. It will recover in the location of Valencia.
In a match against «Lille» (4:1), which took place this week, Cheryshev, limping heavily, left the field on 30 minutes. The Russians were accompanied by the medical team. In the words of chief coach of «Valencia» albert Celades, the midfielder felt «discomfort in the thigh».
For the 2018 world Cup Cheryshev became the best scorer of the Russian team, scoring in five matches with four goals. He started the season as a reserve player, but took to the field in the first half of the opening match against team Saudi Arabia (5:0), replacing the injured Alan Dzagoev.
Russian national team has already guaranteed themselves a spot in the finals of the European championship. The team of Stanislav Cherchesov 21 points, and it won’t fall in the standings of group I below second line.
