The ruling party won the local elections in Bulgaria

Representatives of the ruling party «Citizens for European development of Bulgaria» (GERB) won the second round of elections in local authorities in the major cities of Bulgaria.

According to the CEC, the results of complete processing of protocols of election commissions mayor re-elected Sofia yordanka Fandakova, who scored 209 942 or to 49.98% of the votes. Her rival, an independent candidate May Manolova, supported by opposition Bulgarian socialist party, received 45,13%.

The mayor of Plovdiv was elected Zdravko Dimitrov, with the support 57,32%, the head of Varna was Ivan Tailors — 60,79%.
