Australian Barty won the Final of the WTA tournament
Australian Ashleigh Barty in the final of the tournament won in two sets Ukrainian Elina Svitolina with the score 6:4, 6:3. Prize Fund of the competition in Shenzhen China amounted to $14 million.
The meeting between Barty and Svitolina lasted 1 hour and 27 minutes. During this time the Australian tennis player played one ACE, made three double faults and implemented four break-points out of eight, giving the opponent two of their submission.
In the group stage Barty defeated Belinda Bencic from Switzerland (5:7, 6:1, 6:1) and Czech Petra Kvitova (6:4, 6:2), having conceded to the Dutchwoman Kiki of Bertens (6:3, 3:6, 4:6). In the semifinals, she defeated another representative of the Czech Carolina Pliskova (4:6, 6:2, 6:3).
Barty became the first racket of the world in June 2019 after winning the «Roland Garros» and the competition in Birmingham. In August, she lost leadership in the ranking of the Japanese Naomi Osaka, and again in September, rose to first place.
Just Barty held the rank of the first racket of the world for 15 weeks. To lead the WTA rankings she will be until at least early 2020. Svitolina, who won the Final tournament last season, became the sixth racket of the world.
