Belarus record holder in the high jump was suspended because of doping
Belarusian high jumper Dmitry Nabokov was suspended from participating in international competitions because of suspicions in violation of anti-doping rules. About it informs the press service of the independent athletics disciplinary body Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
In the sample of 23-year-old Nabokov found a prohibited substance furosemide.
Nabokov owns a record of Belarus in the high jump. In 2018, the competition in Brest, he overcame the bar at a height of 2.36 m.
At the Junior level Nabokov in 2014 became the silver medalist of the world championship. In 2017 he won the European Championships for athletes not older than 23 years.
At the Olympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro Nabokov showed in qualifying, a result of 2.17 m and failed to reach the final. At the world Championships 2019 Doha, he also stopped at the stage of training, finishing in 18th place (of 2.26 m).
