Yaroslavl «locomotive» has signed a recording contract with a 40-year-old defender Andrei Markov, reports the team’s official website.
The agreement provides that the player will train with the team and coaching staff will have to assess his form and the possibility of concluding a permanent contract. Trial, the contract may be terminated by either party at any time without explanation.
Markov played in the KHL for 16 seasons, played for such teams as «Chemist», «Vityaz» and Moscow «Dynamo». Last season played in the Kazan «AK the leopard». In 49 matches of the regular season, he played 49 matches and scored 14 points — two goals and 12 assists.
Markov — the 2008 world champion in the Russian team. Together with the national team he twice became the bronze medalist of the world championship in 2005 and 2007.
Lokomotiv scored in the 19 matches of the regular championship KHL 16 points and occupies the ninth place in the standings Western conference.
