Hockey player Jagr was advised to go to the Church for a long career
The most productive European player in NHL history Jaromir Jagr said that allows him to continue his athletic career at 47 years old. In the moment the athlete is playing for the Czech club «Kladno», which acts in championship of the Czech Republic in the ice hockey.
«There is no secret. I am very religious. Russian Orthodox. I love God. At the first opportunity, go to Church and pray for him. God gives me energy. So there is no secret. If you want to play for a long time in hockey — go to Church» — quoted Jagr «Match TV».
According to Jagr, to become a religious man helped him move to Russia. Hockey player played in the Omsk «Avangard» for three seasons from 2008 to 2011.
«I learned in Russia to the fact that faith in God is not necessary to hide. And it helped me a lot. You can show your love for religion everywhere, not just in Church but in the locker room, on the street. Russia decided to show their faith to others, and that’s fine,» he said.
Most of his career Jagr played in the NHL. The Czech team played in North America for the «Pittsburgh», «Washington», «Rangers», «Philadelphia», «Dallas», «Boston», «new Jersey», «Florida» and «calgary». For 24 seasons in the NHL he spent the 1941 game, scoring 2122 points (844+1278).
Jagr is the most productive hockey player from Europe in NHL history. He holds the record for abandoned goals, assists, and total points. For points in the regular championship of NHL Czech hockey player, is second in League history.
On account of Jagr’s two victories in the Stanley Cup in the «Pittsburgh». Together with the Czech team, he was the winner of the Olympics 1998 in Nagano and two-time world champion (2005 and 2010).
