The NHL announced the suspension caught on the cocaine Kuznetsova
The NHL was disqualified got on the cocaine the Russian striker «Washington capitals» Eugene Kuznetsov, in the doping test which found cocaine, reports the official website of the League. 27-year-old hockey player will miss three matches at the start of the regular season next season.
The decision on disqualification Kuznetsova over «inappropriate behaviour» NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman took after meeting with the striker and representatives of the players Association in the League. The Russian stated that he would not appeal against the decision.
In late August, the international ice hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended Kuznetsova for the use of cocaine for four years. The striker passed a positive doping test in may 2019 during the world championship in Slovakia. Until June 2023 he can’t play for Russia in international competitions.
For world Championships 2019 Kuznetsov played ten games, scored two goals and made four assists. Following the results of tournament the national team of Russia won the bronze, defeating on penalties in the match for third place team of the Czech Republic with the score 3:2. Kuznetsov agreed to return the conquered prize.
Striker is a graduate of the Chelyabinsk «Tractor». Since 2014 he plays in the NHL for the Washington capitals. Together with the capital team, whose captain is Alexander Ovechkin, Kuznetsov won the Stanley Cup in season 2017/18. In 416 matches in the regular championship of NHL the Russian scored 101 goal and made 236 assists.
